On October 16th, 2024 the world lost a wonderful man, Gilbert "Gil" Colón in Edenton, NC.
Always an engima, Gil was born October 21, 1958 in New York City but grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He lived an exciting life and never met a stranger. Always full of light and laughter, he touched many lives. Gil would give the shirt off his back or help anyone with anything that needed fixing, no questions asked. He had a soft spot for kids, fuzzy animals, and old people but would never tell you (or admit he too, is old now). A free spirit that loved hard and will be missed greatly. Gil is survived by his partner, Deborah Johnson Bigham and granddaughter Hannah Baggett. He also leaves cherished memories to his best friends Richard Frank Swanner and Kevin Oldham.
A memorial will be held at the deceased residence located at 226 Yeopim Trail, Edenton NC (Chowan Beach) at 4:30 on Oct 26, 2024. Please come be with us while remembering all the laughs and joy he brought to us all.
