As all remain in extreme sorrow and astonishing disbelief, the Horton’s Funeral Home Family joins with the family of George Watford affectionately known as “GT” and “Hammer” as they prepare to say, “Until We Reunite." Mr. Watford transitioned from this Life on Thursday, January 25,2024.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for “GT” have been finalized and will commence on Friday, February 2,2024 beginning with a viewing and visitation at First Baptist Church Roduco between the hours of 4pm and 6pm. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, February 3,2024 at 11am at Gates County High School Gym with Rev. Robert E. Jordan, officiating. As hard as it will be for “GT”loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing....We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Following the order of service, “GT” physical temple along with his cherished loved ones will be escorted to the Freeman Family Cemetery for Interment Rites.
Guests are being received at the residence of the deceased located at 288 NC Highway 32 South Sunbury, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
Left to cherish his memories is the love of his life for 23 years and fiancé, Katrina Boone of Sunbury, NC; one brother, John Watford of Charlotte,NC; one niece Derricia Leary of Sunbury, NC; two nephews, Jayden Watford of Gates, NC and Dontrell Watford of Sunbury; three uncles, Cecil Freeman (Sabrina) of Corapeake ,NC, Micheal Watford (Dianne) of Corapeake, NC, Ernest Watford (Joan) of Suffolk,Va; one aunt, Thelma McClinton of New Jersey; a step-son, Jatrell Spruill (Ronice) of Sunbury, NC; two grandchildren, Peyton and Carson Spruill; special cousins but more like brothers and sisters; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
