It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. George Franklin Washington as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in Edenton, NC. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel at 12Noon. Mr. Washington will lie in peaceful repose from 11am until time of service. Immediately following the services in the chapel, Mr. Washington’s delicate temple will be escorted to the Beaver Hill Cemetery for Committal Rights.

Although George closed the drapes on this daily walk called life, those whom he loved and loved him can find solace knowing, he has walked into the Garden of Rest where everyday is as peaceful and beautiful as a bright Sunday morning and the sunlight brightens the day from the rays of our Heavenly Father.

The Compassionate Professionals at Horton Funeral Home and Cremations are humbled to be a part of this precious family and serve them with uncompromising dignity and love during this difficult time.
