George Calvin Carver

With tender hands of compassion and genuine hearts of love, the Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations Staff and Family joins with the devoted loved ones of Mr. George Calvin Carver affectionately known as “ Cal Cal” as they prepare to say “until we meet again."  Mr. Carver was greeted by his Lord Savior Jesus Christ along with others among the Heavenly Host as he quietly left Outer Banks Health Hospital November 11,2025.

The Triumphant Life and Legacy Celebration will be held on Monday November 17,2025 at 12noon at  Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Manteo,NC. Viewing and visitation will take place from 11am until time of service. Following the services in the sanctuary, “Cal Cal’s” remains and family will be escorted to the Haven Creek Church Cemetery for Interment Rites.

Guests are being received at the residence located at 108 Sarah Mae Carver Lane Manteo, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton’s Ebony Motorcade.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving children Sekeya Calvina Carver-Mi’Cera, JaqandaFarrow, Jacinda Farrow, and their mother Rhonda Carver, Ta-Tanisha Spencer-Or’Shon, Tatyana, Ker’Vonte, Ker’Veon, Venina Spencer-Xaveia, Quadereia, Daionnah, Zaniah, and Keionte, all of Manteo, NC; Taleshia Wrighton of Atlanta, GA; Calvin Anthony Ruffh-Ishmar, Anthony, Makya, Jennifer Valencia Naylor, and Aleazer Naylor-Curry-Mark, all of New Jersey. With five great-grand of Manteo, NC

He is also survived by his siblings: Della M. Owens(Donald) of Clinton, MD; Lonnie Ford (Marie) of Macon, GA; Kenneth Leroy Carver of Manteo, NC; William Ford (Shiquetia) Plymouth, NC, Rosa Waldorf(Peter) Atlanta, GA, Sarah Ford Chesapeake, VA, Anthony Carver Virginia Beach, Va, James Edward Cooper, Jr, Manteo, NC, Robert Lee Ford, Manteo, NC, Sharron Ford (Shevon) Raleigh, NC, Lynette Ford (Lorenzo) Manteo, NC, George Carver Jr. (Shena) Manteo, NC, Almisa Pledger (Nakia “Kiki”) Manteo, NC; uncle: Eddie Lee Simmons, Sr.,(Sally) aunts: M. Trovene Simmons Artis (Joseph), Geneva Simmons Taylor(Frazier),  and Dorothy Carver, his loving Godmother Malinda Lathan, his dear friend/brother Roy Shifflett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
