It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. George Cleveland Boston as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Edenton, North Carolina.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church at 1pm. Mr. Boston will lie in state from 12Noon until time of service.
As hard as it will be for George loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Left to cherish his memories are three children, Ms. Tammy Coston, Mr. Clevon (Elizabeth Privott) Ward, and Mr. Robert Coefield all of Edenton; five siblings, one brother, Mr. Samuel Lee (Pam) Boston of Edgewater, New Jersey, five sisters, Ms. Annie Ruth Boston, and Ms. Kim Martin of Edenton, Ms. Dolline (Anthony) Hathaway of Edenton, and Ms. Donna (Edward) Daniels of High Point NC; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Ms. Wynette Elhelu of Maryland, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and finally, his lifelong friend, Ms. Sarah Welch of Edenton – whom he so loved and called her his Boo-kee!
The Professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Boston and connected families.
