The moment in time has arrived and the Horton’s Funeral Home Family has been asked to announce to all that Mrs. Essie Mae Davis has permanently changed her address to 777 Highway 7, in that beautiful city called Heaven as of June 5, 2023.

A Triumphant Life and Legacy Celebration will be held on Sunday June 11, 2023 commencing at 3pm in the Sanctuary of Porter’s Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Hertford, NC. with Pastor Fondella Leigh, officiating. A Viewing and Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. Immediately following the services in the sanctuary, Mrs. Essie’s delicate temple along with her adored family, will be escorted to the church cemetery for Committal Rites. Inspirational minds can imagine Mrs. Davis has settled into her brand new mansion in glory, admiring the solid gold floors and walls mad of pure jasper. Not to mention her reunion with all of her friends and loved ones who have gone before her. Those that knew and loved Mrs. Essie can find solace realizing, she is sitting at the welcome table feasting on milk and honey with the heavenly host. We can hear her echo the words “It is well with my soul”

Guests are being received at her residence located at 267 Weight Station Road Hertford, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton’s Ebony Motorcade.
