With sincere compassion and concern, the Horton Family stands hand in hand with the relatives of Mrs. Esonjia Louise Thomas as they prepare to celebrate her lasting legacy. Mrs. Thomas better know as “ET” transitioned into eternal rest on January 28,2020 after receiving her heavenly summons while residing in the Advent Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Heartfelt Life Remembering Services have been planned by her family and will proceed thusly. On Saturday, February 8,2020 beginning at 12noon, a sentimental Home Going Celebration will be held at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabeth City,NC. She will lie in state at 11am until time of service. On Friday a visitation will take place from 4-6pm at the funeral home. Immediately following the recessional out of the sanctuary, Mrs. Thomas’s physical temple along with her cherished family will be escorted to the Oak Grove Cemetery in Elizabeth City, NC for Interment Rites. This will be a very solemn day for those close to Mrs. Thomas, however, all can find comfort knowing that after every dark cloud the sun will surely shine again.
Left to cherish memories, one daughter, Angel Thomas of Virginia; one son, Pierre’ Thomas (Jackie) of the home; granddaughter Gabby of the home; sister,Miracle Perry of Mauldin,SC ; brothers, James E. Staten Sr. (Patricia) of Elizabeth City,NC, Lymon Staten (Dee Dee) of Chesapeake VA; aunt, Virginia P. Jones of Elizabeth City NC; uncle, Willie Gray Staten of Lawton, Ok as well as other nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends.
