Eric Nussbaumer

Eric Nussbaumer of Windsor, NC peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 13, 2024. 

Services will be held at a later date. 

He leaves cherished memories to his wife of 45 years Victoria; children, Joshua of Windsor, NC and Sarah of New York; brothers, Steven, John, David  Nussbaumer of New York; sisters, Karen Rothfuss and Lisa Filkins both of New York; brother-in- laws, Rex, John, and Mark Fenton 

Eric was preceded in death by sister Rebecca Nussbaumer, and brother in law James Fenton. 

Eric was employed as a meat cutter for many years, then found his love for driving as a school bus driver and a big rig driver. He spent some time driving over the roads and Vicki joined him as co-driver. The great Nussbaumer team traveled cross country adventures. Eric ended up back at Longs Milk Haulers which he enjoyed for many years. 

Eric decided to retire in Windsor, NC where he found the folks of Bertie County Humane Society and volunteered his time and love for animals to help at the local animal shelter. He and Vicki helped many cats and dogs get to their forever homes. 

Eric will be remembered for his love of having a good time and always offering a hand to help out if he could and he always had candy in his pockets for kids. Eric truly loved kids. He was known as the favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Bertie County Humane Society or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
