Era Mae (Lyles) Gordon

With an abundance of love and concern, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family is embracing the loved ones of Mrs. Era Mae Lyles Gordon, as they prepare to say “Farewell” to a link to their family chain. Mrs. Gordon closed the curtains on this journey called life April 1, 2024. 

Services to commemorate Mrs. Gordon’s life, will begin with a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 commencing at 2pm at Bagley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. 

Following the life honoring services in the chapel, Mrs. Gordon along with her adored family, will be escorted to her earthly resting place in the Cedarwood Cemetery for Committal Rights. 

She leaves to mourn her son Earl Reginald Payne (Christine) of Arizona, Rodney Edward Gordon (Diane) of Belvidere N.C., stepdaughter Kimberly Pettiway Turner (Ralph) of California, adopted daughter Sarah Gardner of Hertford N.C.(Clifton),godson Clarence Burke of Va., and Brian Gordon of Maryland, eight grandchildren Latoshia Rose (Arizona), Mishanta Gordon (Elizabeth City N.C.),Jasmine Gordon (El Paso Texas),  Malik Gordon (Starr) of Charlotte N.C., Kelvin Franklin Jr of Virginia, Dana Jackson (Marcus) of California, Willie Roberts of Belvidere, and Brandon Perry of Greenville N.C., nine great grands Parker, Alivia, Liam, Titus, Laila, Marcus, Caius, Bralon, and Ny, one sister Juanita Lyles of Alabama, four sister in laws Flora, Shirley, Cora, Grace, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Although this is a task that no family wishes to partake, God promised to give them a strength that surpasses all understanding and He can do what no other power can do. 

The Compassionate Professionals of Horton’s Funeral Home are walking hand in hand with this precious family during this period.
