Ellis Arnell McClees

As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Ellis Arnell McClees as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. McClees got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Friday, August 19, 2022.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Ellis have been finalized and will commence on Friday, August 26, 2022 beginning with a viewing between the hours of 6pm and 8pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. The Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Church of Lord Jesus Christ in Edenton, NC with Bishop Roosevelt Townsend, Eulogist.

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

As hard as it will be for Mr. McClees’ loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
