It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. Earlin Ray Bond also know as “Pea Pot” as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Edenton, North Carolina
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Earlin have been finalized and will commence on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 beginning with viewing and visitation at Horton’s Funeral Home in Hertford, NC between the hours of 5pm and 7pm. Mr. Bond’s family will climax his life remembrance with a “Loving Farewell” Ceremony on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 beginning at 1pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel..
Earlin Ray Bond, son of Estelle Dillard and the late James Carey Bond was born on June 28,1968 in Edenton, N.C. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 4, 2022.
Earlin attended the Edenton- Chowan schools and worked as a farm laborer. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts and worked in the roofing business until he returned home.
He leaves to cherish his memories; daughter, Rachel Lisa Raye Bond of Boston, Massachusetts; his mother, Estelle Dillard of Edenton, N.C; four sisters, Patricia Ann Dillard, Dorothy Marie Dillard both of Edenton, N.C.; Jennifer Pagi Dillard of Suffolk, Virginia; Nancy Wilson of Elizabeth City, N.C.; three Brothers ,James Edward Dillard of Edenton, N.C. James Morris of Elizabeth City N.C. Kelvin Holley of Edenton N.C., and a host of aunts,uncles,nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.
As hard as it will be for Earlin’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
