The clock of life is wound but once, And no one has the power, To tell just where the hands will stop, At late or early hour… The present only is our own, live, love, toil with a will, Place no faith in tomorrow, For the clock may then be still.

As the Angelic Host rejoices with the arrival of another Soldier, those who remain to endure have heavy hearts and indescribable sadness as a result of this tremendous loss. Earl Harrell Person gently laid his head in the Master’s arms and went to sleep in Paradise on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. 

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration Services have been finalized. Beginning on Monday, November 1, 2021, a Viewing and Visitation will be held at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations where he will lie in Tranquil Repose from 5-7 pm. On Tuesday, November 2, 2021 beginning promptly at 12 noon, the Angelic Obsequies will take place at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations with Dr. Darius J. Horton, officiating. On November 9, 2021 at 10 am “Earl” along with his adored relatives will be escorted to his earthly waiting room called Albert G. Horton’s Veteran’s Cemetery until his name is called to receive his crown of Righteousness.

He lived his life with this in mind…. “If I can help somebody along the way then my living won’t be in vain.” Truly we can say His living wasn’t in vain!

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 23 years, Doll (Vanessa) Person. Three daughters Brittany Robinson, Riesa Person (Junea) and Irvinia Gregg (Damian).  Two grandchildren, Marquas Gregg and Morgan Person. He was preceded in death by his son Antwan Robinson.  He also leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Vera Hockaday, Yolanda West and one uncle, Russell Jordan. His extended family, (Mother Figure) Dorothy Harvey and siblings Anthon Thomas, Iris Booker, Andre Thomas and Albert Thomas and the remaining Harvey family.  He was predeceased by siblings, Michelle Downing and Darryl Thomas. Because he was so well loved, he leaves to carry on his legacy a host of family members, in-law’s, friends, neighbors of Stockbridge Community and many others who loved Earl dearly. Earl will truly be missed by his bestfriend, Ava, his German Shepard service dog.
