Duane Michael Lyons

As all remain in extreme sorrow and astonishing disbelief, the Horton’s Funeral Home Family joins with the family of Mr. Duane Michael Lyons as they prepare to say, “Until We Reunite."  Mr. Lyons transitioned from this Life on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Duane have been finalized and will commence with A Service of Remembrance on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2:30pm at First Baptist Missionary Church with his mother, Evangelist Lisa Felton, Eulogist. As hard as it will be for Duane’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing....We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

Following the order of service, Duane’s physical temple along with his cherished loved ones will be escorted to the Cedarwood Cemetery for Interment Rites. 

Duane leaves to cherish precious memories his mother Lisa Gale Thompson-Felton (Howard), Hertford, NC; Father Duane Alfred Lyons of Laurel MD, daughters Da’Nylla Marie Lyons and Aniya Nicole Lyons of Hertford, NC; sisters Lisa N. Anderson of Yonkers NY, Danielle A. Carver of San Antonio TX, and Ashley M. Lyons-Harris (Antonio) Laurel MD; stepbrothers Howard Felton (Kim) Fredericksburg VA, Anthony Felton (Candra) Cumming GA, and stepsister Yolanda Carter (Donta) Durham NC, a host of nieces and nephews family and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his Great-grandparents Charlie & Lena Heath, Grandfather Joseph A. Thompson, Grandmother Linda M. Thompson, John & Florence B. Franklin and Lewis Henry & Estell Felton; stepsister Terea Felton, aunts, Maeretha D. Poole (Earl), Doris J. Jackson, Emma Gail Mial and Eliane Mial Harris (Lenny) and Cassie Nelson (David) uncle, Rufus Daniel Mail and cousin, Arkeem Adkins.
