With sincere compassion and concern, the Horton Family stands hand in hand with the relatives of Mrs. Dorothy Lee Carter affectionately called “Boo” as they prepare to celebrate her lasting legacy. Mrs. Carter transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Services commemorating this priceless gem will be held Thursday January 25,2024 at 1pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Pastor Shomari Bullard, officiating.
As hard as it will be for Boo’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
She leaves to cherish her memories, husband Willis Carter; daughters, Makayla Carter (Corone), Deidre Williams (Dequon), Samantha Pittman, Danielle Rome, Janiffer Rome; four sisters, Helen B. Holley, Mary Grissom (Junius), Teresa Perry,Annette Fuentes; mother-in-law Sadie Carter; three grandchildren, Ashley Parker, Sharlette & Dakari Williams all of Edenton, NC; God-daughter/great niece Zacchaeu Grissom of Greenville, NC; bonus daughter,Jessica Cofield and a host of other nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Guests are being received at the residence of the deceased located at 206 Bud Street Edenton, NC 27932 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
