With loving arms of compassion the Horton’s Funeral Home Family is consoling the heartbroken loved ones of Mr. Donell Brothers as they prepare to take a journey that no family wishes to take. Mr. Brothers closed the curtains of life on June 9, 2021 while resting at his residence in Hertford, North Carolina.
The “Dash” between Donell’s year of birth and year of leaving this world will be honored on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 3pm at Horton’s Funeral Home Chapel in Hertford. On Saturday, June 12, 2021 between the hours of 5-7 pm Donell will be on view for those who wish to spend moments with him prior to the Celebration of Life Service. Although it will be a major adjustment for his family with Donell no longer being present to enjoy precious moments, all can find comfort realizing he is sitting at the Welcome Table with all of the saints that have gone on before him, beholding the Master’s Glory as he receives his golden keys and his crown of righteousness.
Donell was preceded in death by his loving parents, twin brother Ronell Brothers, beloved sister Tina Brothers and nephew Jaime Skinner. He is survived by three sisters: Beatrice Sharlene Brothers and Adrian Brothers of Hertford, NC; Glenda Brooks of Washington, DC; two brothers: William “RIP” Brothers of Hertford, NC and Donald “Pep” Reid (Deborah Ann) of Dover, DE. He also leaves to mourn his nieces: Ashley Tolliver (Jamaal) of Clarksburg, MD; Sharra Lee of Hertford, NC; Chelsea Sutton of Raleigh NC; Linadria Foppiano (Tony) of Lusby, MD; nephews: Donald “Donnie” Reid of Rome, NY; Avery Reid of Dover, DE; Terence Brooks of Alexandria, VA. Special Friends: Deborah Ann Reid, Rosetta Nixon, Marcy Askew, Latoya Tillett and host of other family, friends and loved ones.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Sharisha Coleman - a dear friend that has been like family to Donell.
