David Abner Cofield

Though the clouds may hang over  there will be a brighter day  in that land, they call heaven  God shall wipe all tears away….. 

It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. David Abner Cofield as he peacefully answered the Master's call on November 11,2025 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center Elizabeth City, NC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday November 18,2025 at Oxley Hill Missionary Baptist Church at 11am with Apostle Jarvis Parker delivering the Eulogy. Mr. Cofield will Lie in state from 10am-until time of service.

Immediately following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Cofield’s delicate temple and cherished family will be escorted to the Cofield Family Cemetery for internment rights.

Guests are being received at 114 Thick Neck Road Edenton,NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.

Although David closed the drapes on this daily walk called life, those whom he loved and loved him can find solace knowing, he has walked into the Garden of Rest where everyday is as peaceful and beautiful as a bright Sunday morning and the sunlight brightens the day from the rays of our Heavenly Father.
