As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Cordell Long as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Long got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train on Friday, July 4, 2025.
A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 12Noon at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations with Dr. Kera L. Johnson, Eulogist.
Immediately following the formalities in the Chapel, Mr. Long’s earthen vessel along with his cherished family will be escort even to Church of Deliverance Church Cemetery for Committal Rites.
As hard as it will be for Cordell’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Guests are being received at the mother of the deceased residence, Mrs. Salina Long, located at 1148 Virginia Rd. Edenton, North Carolina 27932 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
The Compassionate Professionals of Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are serving the Long family and connected families with uncompromising dignity.
