With an abundance of love and concern, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family is embracing the heartbroken loved ones of Mrs. Clenora Halsey Mitchell, as they prepare to say “Farewell” to this vital link to their family chain. Mrs. Mitchell closed the curtains on this journey called life on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family.
Services to reflect Mrs. Mitchell’s rich life sketch from her time of birth until the moment she entered into everlasting rest are finalized by her cherished family. On Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 12Noon a Celebration of Life will be called to order at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations with Apostle Edna Lawrence, Officiating. Mrs. Mitchell will lie in state from 11am until time of service. While there, relatives and friends can unite in love and support for each other as they prepare to say “farewell.”
Immediately following the formalities in the Chapel, Mrs. Mitchell’s earthen vessel along with her cherished family will be escorted to Beaver Hill Cemetery for Committal Rites.
Mrs. Mitchell closed the drapes on this daily walk called life, those whom she loved and loved her can find solace knowing she has walked into the Garden of Rest where everyday is as peaceful and beautiful as a bright Sunday morning and the sunlight brightens the day from the rays of our Heavenly Father.
Clenora is survived by: a husband: Ronald Lee Mitchell; one son: Nicholas Halsey (Tequila); one daughter: Tanisha Mitchell, all of Edenton, NC; eight grandchildren: Eddie Moore, Marshaun Wilson, Zakayla Wilson, Ayden McPherson, Roshan Holley, Karyae Twine, Deontae Holley, and Danshae Holley, all of Edenton, NC; Brothers: Richard Halsey, Jr. of Greenville, NC; Clifton Edward Halsey of Brooklyn. NY; Sisters: Arlene Halsey Bunch (Willie) of Fayetteville, NC; Anne Harvey (Fred) of Hertford, NC; and Janet Halsey Bunch (Bobby) of Durham, NC; one Uncle: Daniel Hassell of Edenton, NC; Two special friends: Robert Pugh and Marcus Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
