Charlie Henry Pledger lll

The moment has come and the Horton’s Funeral Home Family has been given the solemn duty to announce that Mr. Charlie Henry Pledger lll, is no longer troubled with the cares of this world but he is now resting among the Heavenly Host. Mr. Pledger began his Life of everlasting peace on Sunday, September 8, 2024  while resting at Currituck Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A Viewing and Visitation will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 6pm-7pm at Horton’s Memorial Chapel in Columbia, NC. The Celebration of Life Service honoring Charlie’s legacy will take place Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11am at Haven Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Spruill, Eulogist and Rev. Ray Hill, Pastor. 

Immediately following the order of service, a Committal Service will come forth in the Haven Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

Although Charlie exited this walk called life and left a void in his family that no one but God can fill, they can find comfort knowing that if Charlie could leave any consolation, it would be these Love-able Lord-like lyrics: I’m free....praise the Lord I’m free....I’m no longer bound, there no more chains holding me...for my soul is resting, it’s just a blessing.......praise the Lord, Hallelujah.....I’m free. 

Guests are being received at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Nora Simpson at 101 Old Cemetery Rd. Manteo, NC 27954 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.

He leave to cherish his memory, his brother Lonnie and Alden Pledger of Augusta, GA, two sisters, Debra and Curtis Bryant, of Manteo, NC, Nora P. Simpson, of Manteo, NC. and one sister-in-law Chelthia Pledger of Manteo, NC.  His late brothers Elijah Pledger and Thaddeaus Pledger, sister, Michelle Pledger, aunt Barbara Pledger of Manteo, NC.  A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
