Charles Haywood Blount

As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Charles Haywood Blount as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Blount got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Tuesday October 7,2025 in Edenton, NC.

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday October 15,2025 at 1pm at Union Grove A. M. E. Zion Church with Rev. Randy Griffin Sr.,officiating. He will lie in state from 12 noon until time of service.

Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Blount's delicate temple along with his adored family will be escorted to the Beaver Hill Cemetery for committal rights.

As hard as it will be for Charles loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
