With sincere compassion and concern, the Horton Family stands hand in hand with the relatives of Mrs. Carolyn Woods McNeal as they prepare to celebrate her lasting legacy. Mrs. McNeal transitioned into eternal rest on April 19, 2025 receiving her heavenly summons in Norfolk, VA.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2pm at Snow Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Antonio Brown, Pastor/Officiating. Viewing and Visitation will take place Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 4pm-6pm at Horton’s Memorial Chapel Columbia, NC. It will be an adjustment for Mrs. McNeal’s family and friends not being able to spend time with her any longer while here. However, the silver lining is just as the songwriter penned, “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus we will sing and shout the victory.”
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mrs. McNeal’s delicate temple along with her adored family will be escorted to the Fairfield Community Cemetery for committal rights.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle L Woods; father, Charlie Woods; sisters, Mary Conor, Annie Mae Woods, Laura Woods, and Myrtle Barrow; Brother, George T. Woods; two sons, George A. Woods and Calvin Woods.
Carolyn W. McNeal leaves to cherish her memories: three sons Coalvin Woods (Kathleen) of Maryland, Gary Woods (Paulette) and Charles McNeal of Fairfield; two daughters Jennifer Woods of Virgina and Myra McNeal of Fairfield. She also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The Compassionate Professionals at Horton Funeral Home and Cremations are humbled to be a part of this precious family and serve them with uncompromising dignity and love during this difficult time.
