Carlene Burke Hunter

As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mrs. Carlene Burke Hunter as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with her. Mrs. Hunter got her ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Wednesday, September 28, 2022. 

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Carlene have been finalized and will commence beginning with a viewing and visitation on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. The Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Bay Branch AME Zion Church at 1pm with Rev. Joseph Walton, Eulogist. 

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Cedarwood Cemetery. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

As hard as it will be for Carlene’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
