Though the clouds may hang over  there will be a brighter day  in that land, they call heaven God shall wipe all tears away…

In extreme sorrow, the staff of Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations is embracing the tender hearts of the family of Mr. Byron Bryant who entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.  From there, he picked up his new wardrobe and golden keys for his everlasting life in Heaven.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Bryant have been finalized and will commence on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 12Noon with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration at Mt. Pilgrim Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Engelhard, NC with Elder Alton Boomer, Eulogist. Mr. Bryant will lie in peaceful repose from 11am until time of service. 

Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Bryant delicate temple along with his adored family will be escorted to the Greenhill Cemetery for committal rights. Mr. Bryant was so much to so many and it will be difficult with him no longer being with us on this side.  However, those who loved him can find solace knowing, he is now strolling the streets paved with pure gold free from all of life’s fitful fevers. There, he’s sitting at the Welcome Table feasting on milk and honey while enjoying being in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
