It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mrs. Bertha Lorine Riddick affectionally known as "Rine" as she peacefully answered the Master's call on Friday, September 1, 2023 in Suffolk, Virginia.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mrs. Riddick have been finalized and will commence with a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2pm at First Baptist Roduco with Pastor Robert Jordan, Officiating. Mrs. Riddick will lie in peaceful repose from 1pm until time of service.
Immediately following the formalities in the Sanctuary, Mrs. Riddick's earthen vessel along with her cherished family will be escort to Hall Family Cemetery for Committal Rites.
As hard as it will be for Bertha's loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Bertha is survived by her husband George Edward Riddick “Little Tom” and her adored children: Thomas Nathaniel Riddick and Gladys Lorriane Riddick of home and Christopher Kirk Riddick (Aisha) of Gates, NC. One step daughter Paula Napier (Rawle) of Temple Terrace, Fl, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister Delza Lassiter (Eddie), two brothers, Charlie Hall Sr. (Linda)of Gates NC, Arnold “Ray” Hall Sr (Cynthia) of Sunbury, NC, sister-in-law Rita Flanagan Hall of Fredericksburg, Va. A special cousin which she raised, Herbert Knight, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,extended family and cherished friends.
