Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown Sr., the ninth child of Lydia P. Brown and the late Miles Brown Sr., was born January 09, 1956, in Weeksville, (Pasquotank County) NC. He departed this life March 29, 2016, at Butner Medical Facility, Butner, NC.

At an early age he joined the Whiteville Grove Missionary AME Zion Church, Nixonton, NC. Later he joined Galatia Missionary Baptist Church of New Hope, NC where he was on the Usher Board for a while.

Andrew Attended School in Pasquotank County. He worked at several construction, farm labor jobs, and McPherson Bros. Tire Shop. Very laborious work: however his skill was his claim to fame. Andrew was an athletic man and loved to lift weights, a man who loved life and had a quick laugh.

In 1977 he married Dalphene Chapman who preceded him in death. To this union three children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  Two sons, Andrew Brown, Jr. (Patrice Revelle) and Antron Brown, both of Elizabeth City, NC and one Daughter Latasih Chapman-Ayers (Caleb) of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Twelve grandchildren Khalil and Jahrod Ferebee, Andrew ,III,  Jeremiah,  Jyriah, Arianne Brown, Na’Zya and Jameiar Revelle, Tanoka Chapman, Frederick White,  Icee’ana Riddick, Key’nya Alexander.

His mother Lydia P. Brown, five sisters Annie B. Ferebee, Clarissa B. Gibson (Charlie), Glenda B. Thomas (Wendell) all of Elizabeth City, NC, Lillie Brown-Clark (Ronald) Zebulon, NC. Ella B. Smith (James) of Jonesboro, GA. Five brothers Bishop Miles Brown Jr.(Mittie Joyce), (Woodbridge, VA), Zachariah Brown Sr. ( Betty), Jesse Brown, and Pete Brown all of Elizabeth City, NC.   One sister-in-law Laverne J. Brown and special family friend Martha McCullen both of Elizabeth City, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Charlie and Lucy Dance God brother and sister. He was preceded in death by his father Miles Brown Sr., and brothers Johnny Mack Brown, Sr. and Rudolph Brown, Sr.
