As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Abram Clinton Lightfoot as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Lightfoot got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Monday, March 11, 2024.
A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 12Noon at Bay Branch A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Dr. Joseph L. Walton, Eulogist/Pastor. A Viewing and Visitation will take place Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5pm to 7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. While there, relatives and friends can unite in love and support for each other as they prepare to say “farewell.”
Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
Although this is a task that no family wishes to partake, God promised to give them a strength that surpasses all understanding and He can do what no other power can do.
Those who knew Abram best will remember his love of country living, willingness to assist others in need and the love to fellowship with family and friends. Inescapably, the lively spirit and candor of Abram is left to be cherished by his daughter, Angelia Lightfoot, and his two granddaughters, Aranda and Miranda Holley which he referred to as “The Girls”. As well as the grand-pups that would circle around his feet.
He also leaves to mourn the following: Four brothers Anderson Lightfoot (Winnie), Freeport, New York; James Lightfoot (Judy), Cambridge Heights, New York; Irving Lightfoot (Hilda), Virginia Beach, Va; Sidney (Wanda), Chester, Virginia. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins and countless friends that felt like family.
The Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family is providing any measure of assistance available to the Lightfoot and connected families during this emotional time.
