Louis Earl Riddick

In extreme sorrow, the staff of Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations is embracing the tender hearts of the  family of Mr. Louis Earl Riddick.

Louis Earl Riddick, 81, of Norfolk, VA, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, July 16, 2018.  He was born in Perquimans County, N.C. on December 23, 1936 to the late Leon Riddick and Pearl V. Davis.  He was predeceased by one son, Leroy Harris of Norfolk, VA; two brothers, Robert and Roosevelt Riddick of Philadelphia, PA.

Louis was a faithful member of Galatia Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for over 25 years.   He retired from the Norfolk Redevelopment Housing Authority (NRHA) after 23 years of service.  

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Curlue Marie “Ree”; three sons, Kenneth E. (Janice) Harris of Norfolk, VA; James L. (Angela) of Norfolk, VA; Douglas of Norfolk, VA; Carlton (Loretta) of Virginia Beach, VA; Gregory (Shelly) of Cleveland, OH; two daughters, Jacqueline (Michael - deceased) Hines of Norfolk, VA; and Karen (Melvin) Jordan of Stone Mountain, GA.  Also left to cherish his memories, one brother, Marvin (Gloria) of Clinton, MD; three sisters, Rosa Parker, Philadelphia, PA; Katie Byrd (Dennis) of Laurel Springs, NJ; and Deborah Riddick of Elizabeth City, NC.;  25 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Galatia Missionary Baptist Church, Hertford, NC.  Viewing will take place on Friday from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.During both days, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss. 

Mr. Riddick’s remains rest in the care and comfort of Hortons’s Funeral Home and Cremations.
