Kelly Eugene Gibbs Jr.

Bowing in humbled submission to the will of our Heavenly Father, it has become the solemn responsibility of Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations to inform all that Mr. Kelly Eugene Gibbs, Jr. is now resting in paradise. Mr. Gibbs put down the cares of this life on Thursday November 22,2018.

Mr.Gibb’s  family has reserved Saturday December 1,2018 as the day to celebrate his life. Commencing on Saturday with a viewing and visitation from 1-1:45pm in the Sanctuary of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church Columbia,NC. There family and friends may gather to reminisce on lasting memories of Kelly. Following the moments of viewing and visitation a Triumphant Celebration of Life service will be held in the Sanctuary at 2pm with Minister Dorothy Spencer, officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. As difficult as it will be for his Mother and entire family to dismiss from this earthly resting place without Kelly all will find solace knowing he is in that land where there is a tree and its leaves are good for the healing of all infirmities. He will rest by the brook flowing with living water, forever resting in eternal paradise.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Kelly Gibbs, Sr., and his sister, Ciara Spencer. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Inez Swain; three sisters, Tewania  Spencer, and Tyra Swain of Columbia and Shakeeda Spencer of Roper, NC; one brother, Craig Swain, Jr of Columbia; Grandmother, Laverne Basnight of Wilmington, Delaware and the late, Clarice (Pete) Spencer; six aunts, Marchelle (Michael) Basnight, Arlene (Andre Midgette), Darlene (Victor) Banks, Mary Etta White and the late Shelia Murray and Teressa Davenport; six uncles, Quillicy (Lacheryl) Basnight, Bill (Blake) Alexander, Welton (Andrea) Spencer, William Barber, Tony Spencer and Stanley Spencer, a host of nieces and nephews (16 to be exact), cousins, and friends; Kelly had two very special people who he often said, “was in his corner”, his grandmother, Laverne Basnight, and aunt, Marchelle Basnight.
