Henry Curtis “Peewee” Brownridge Jr.

With an abundance of love and concern, the Horton Family is embracing the heartbroken loved ones of Mr. Henry Curtis Brownridge Jr. better know as “Peewee” as they prepare to say “Farewell” to this vital link to their family chain. Mr. Brownridge closed the curtains on this journey called life on Friday night while resting at Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton, NC.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Peewee” have been finalized and will commence on Saturday November 23,2019, from 12 Noon until 1pm for moments of viewing and reflection at New Greater Welch Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Tyner, NC. Mr. Brownridge’s family will climax his life remembrance with a “Triumphant Homegoing Celebration ” on Saturday  commencing in the Sanctuary of New Greater Welch’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at 1pm. Immediately following the recessional out of the sanctuary, Mr. Brownridge’s physical temple along with his cherished family will be escorted to the Beaver Hill Cemetery Edenton, NC for Interment Rites. As hard as it will be for Mr. Peewee’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing....We’ll understand it better all by and by.

Henry is proceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Brownridge. Henry leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother Nellie Brownridge of Newark, NJ. Seven children Johnny Boyce (Tonya) Hampton, VA, Melvin Boyce (Heather) of Robersonville, NC, Joseph Brownridge (Deborah) of Edenton, NC, Shirley Moore (Johnnie) of Henrico, VA, Barbara Taylor of Edenton, NC, Daryl Harris (Shanda) of Brentwood, NY, Terrance Dillard (Jerisha) of Tyner, NC. Twenty-seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. One aunt Sadie Carter of Edenton, NC. Eight sisters Odessa Privott of East Orange, NJ, Ella Smith of Raleigh, NC, Doris Jean Roberts of Wilson, NC Antoniette Sims of Hackensack, NJ Cynthia Crenshaw (Charles) of Hillside, NJ, Johnnie Johnson (Connell) of Snellville, GA, Rosa Brownridge of Lagrange, NC, Mona'Lisa Brownridge of Charlotte, NC. Three brothers William Brownridge of Irvington, NJ, Calvin Brownridge (Kathy) of Irvington,NJ, Curtis Brownridge (Theresa) of  Kinston, NC. Three brother- in- laws Steve Boyce (Marie) of Raleigh, NC, William Boyce (Minnie) of Long Island, NJ , Joseph Taylor of Tyner, NC. Two sister-in-laws Maddie Pope of Suffolk, VA, Lillie White of Tyner, NC.  Two godchildren Tonya Sharpe of Greenville, NC, Torzay Privott of Edenton, NC. Two special nephews Ervin "Ray" White and Joseph "Pop" Taylor who he looked at as being sons.  A very special friend John Skinner. Also, Henry leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends 

Guests are being received at the residence located at 68 Chowan Court Edenton, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
