Booker Taliaferro Walton

With an abundance of sympathy, the Horton Family announces to all that Mr. Booker T. Walton, 99 of Elizabeth City no longer answers to his name on this side because he answered his Heavenly Father’s summons on Saturday October 27,2018 at Sentara  Albemarle Medical Center.

Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday November 3,2018 at The Mount Church Elizabeth City at 12 noon with Bishop James E. Jones Sr., officiating and Rev Jasper Gaskins,eulogist. He will lie in state from 11am until time of service. Viewing and visitation will take place at Mary Holly Grove A.M.E. Zion on Friday from 6-8pm. With a service of reflection beginning at 7pm.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Frances Walton, his daughter Phyllis Omedia and his son Booker T. Walton, Jr. Left to cherish his wonderful memory is his five children, William(Delphine), Johnnie(Earline) and Lonnie all of Elizabeth City, NC. Laura of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Nathan of Richmond, Va. Three sisters in law Lubertha Williams, Vivian Lee, and Pennie Ann James all of Elizabeth City, NC. Also left to cherish his loving memory are 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Walton’s remains rest in the care of Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations Hertford,NC.
