Herbert Cecil Figgs

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight. 
I am the soft stars that shine at night. 
Do not stand at my grave and cry,

Mr. Herbert C. Figgs of 38 Carters Road entered into eternal rest on Wednesday January 17,2018.

Mr. Herbert Cecil Figgs was born December 14,1928 in Chowan County,NC

He was educated in Chowan County, North Carolina school system. In 1967 he relocated to Salisbury, Maryland. He worked as a Truck Driver until his health would not permit.In 2015 he relocated to Accordius Health and Rehabilitation where resided until death.

He leaves to cherish his memories, daughter Amanda F. Goodman of Gates,NC; stepdaughter Jean Knight; grandchildren Amecia Goodman and Rashawn Goodman; great grandson, Chance A. Goodman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins loved ones and friends.

Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday January 24,2018 at 1pm First Baptist Church Roduca with Rev. Robert Jordan, officiating. He will lie in state from 12noon until time of service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Figgs remains rest in the care and comfort of Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations.
