Healon Deleanor Williams

Mr. Healon Deleanor Williams of 216 Cobb Street Elizabeth City, NC entered into eternal rest on January 29,2017.

Celebration of Life will take place Friday February 3,2017 at 1pm at Holy Trinity Community Church. Viewing will take place at the church from Friday from12noon until time of service.

 Healon Deleanor Williams affectionately known as “Chub” son of Virginia Williams and the late Medford Williams was born as the eldest son of ten children on April 15, 1945. He was reared and educated in Elizabeth City Pasquotank County Schools. He graduated from P.W. Moore High School in 1964. Healon enlisted in the US Army upon graduation where he served his country for 12 years.
“Chub had a passion for cooking which led him to becoming a chef working at various restaurants on the Outer Banks as well as restaurants in Virginia Beach Virginia. Chub loved his children, siblings, especially his nieces whom he often assigned nicknames such as “Deenie Weenie” ( Eundene), “Red” ( LaKita), and “ DanaWana” ( Dana). Chub also has a desire in his days to be nominated as best dressed often sporting his favorite shoes “Stacy Adams” and WallaBees”. Chub also loved his favorite food steak and believed “NOBODY” could burn like him.

Chub has joined his loved ones who have anxiously awaiting his arrival in heaven- his father Medford Williams, his sister Phoebe Bonds, his brother Wayne “ Chief” Williams, maternal grandparents Issac & Penny Overton, paternal grandparents Andrew& Grenada Williams, nephew Brian Bowe. Nieces Ronnette, Kina, Lynn, and Mia Dashiell.

Chub is survived by his mother Virginia O. Williams of Eliz. City, NC.; daughters Karen L. ( Sammeul) Geddie; Phadiona Spence, Chesapeake, VA.; grandsons Malik Barnes of Eliz. City, NC; Terrell Bembury and Dujuan Spence of Chesapeake, VA.; three brothers Sanford Williams, Dwight Williams, and Randy ( Valarie) Williams of Eliz. City, NC.; three sisters Dianne Gramby, Candy ( Darnell) Greene, Rita ( Herbert) Bowe, and Barbette( Ronald) Dasheill of Eliz. City, NC.; six aunts Doris Moore, Hazel Purvis, Rubenia Williams of Eliz. City, NC.; Beaulah Moore of Woodville, NC.’ Margaret Overton of Waterbury, Conn.; and Velma Butts of Portsmouth. Va. A very special cousin Carlton Purvis and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
