Brenda Kay Jordan

Brenda Kay Jordan was born on July 26, 1965 in Edenton, North Carolina to Mary Louis Jordan and the late Clyde Rogers Jordan. She quietly departed this life on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Celebration of Life for Ms. Brenda Kay Jordan will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11am at White Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Tyner, NC, with Pastor Arthur Manigault Officiating, and Rev. Dr. Darius J. Horton, Eulogist. Viewing and Visitation will take place on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home

As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality Brenda was loved by many. She was an active member at Spirit and Truth Ministry where she attend worship service anytime her health would allow. Brenda was very passionate about the food ministry and raised money and collected goods to support community families in need. Her interests included cooking, working with crafts, and caring for children. Early in life she worked at the Chowan County Head Start Program for more than 10 years. 

“Brenda J” loved her family and never allowed a day to pass without calling and keeping up with everything and everyone.  She leaves to cherish her sweet memories three sons: Dominic Jordan (Rayen) of Tyner, NC, Steven “Bro” Jordan (T’Kara) of Greensboro, NC, and Tevin Jordan (Jackie) of Tyner, NC; two brothers: Steven Jordan (Chante´) or Tyner, NC and Anthony Privott of Hobbsville, NC; 2 nephews, 2 nieces, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

Ms. Jordan's remains rest in the care and comfort of Horton's Funeral Home and Cremations in Hertford, NC.
